Scheduled inter-MFA consultations were held in Moscow on May 26, focusing on current issues of multilateral economic diplomacy within universal and regional formats, the CIS Executive Committee press service reported.
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the consultations.
Participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the economic agenda. During the meeting, positions were expressed against the politicization of multilateral economic formats.
The parties also noted the danger of unfair competition, unilateral restrictive measures and trade barriers, which, according to the participants in the consultations, hinder economic growth.
Particular attention was paid to issues of financial management, trade, transport and energy connectivity, green development and regional cooperation.
Participants confirmed their readiness to continue working together and coordinate approaches at relevant international and regional venues.
During the consultations, the possibility of involving new partners from among the CIS member states in the activities of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization was also discussed.
The parties paid special attention to the Greater Eurasian Partnership. Participants welcomed the pooling of economic potential to strengthen connectivity in Greater Eurasia, noting the importance of this process for the growing well-being and prosperity of all countries and associations in the region.
Following the consultations, the participants emphasized the importance of continuing the practice of inter-MFA consultations within the CIS on issues of multilateral economic cooperation.
