Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is in China on a state visit, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday. Both sides agreed to extend the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation between China and Russia.
Xi Jinping noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Chinese-Russian partnership and strategic cooperation, as well as the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation between China and the Russian Federation.
The reason why China-Russia relations have gradually reached the high level they have reached today is that both countries have been able to continuously deepen political mutual trust and strategic coordination with unwavering perseverance, expand cooperation in various fields in the spirit of striving for greater achievements, and with unwavering determination to uphold international justice and fairness and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, Xi Jinping emphasized.
"As permanent members of the UN Security Council and major powers of global significance, China and Russia should, with a strategic and long-term perspective, promote the development and revitalization of our countries through even higher-quality comprehensive strategic coordination and give impetus to the formation of a more just and reasonable system of global governance," Xi Jinping said.

China and Russia are developing a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era based on equality, mutual respect, integrity, and win-win cooperation, Xi Jinping noted.
According to him, the political mutual trust between the two countries is constantly strengthening, there is steady progress in cooperation in various fields, such as economics and trade, investment, energy, science and technology, humanitarian and interregional exchanges, and the ties between the peoples of the two countries are becoming even stronger.
Xi Jinping emphasized that Chinese-Russian relations have entered a new stage of more effective and faster development.
Unwaveringly promoting the long-term, healthy, stable and high-quality development of China-Russia relations is a strategic choice of both sides, based on the fundamental interests of the two countries and the overall trend of global development, Xi Jinping said.
Xi Jinping called on China and Russia to fully implement the important agreements reached between him and Vladimir Putin, seize historic opportunities, and continue to strengthen mutual trust, cooperation, and friendship between the two countries.
