On May 6, 2026, a meeting between the leadership of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and ambassadors from Central Asian countries took place in Dushanbe. The agency's press service reported this.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding regional cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Participants noted that artificial intelligence is becoming a key factor in accelerating innovative development, improving the efficiency of public services, developing the digital economy, and strengthening regional ties in Central Asia.
Particular attention was paid to the need to develop coordinated regional approaches to the development of digital ecosystems, strengthening human capital, and expanding knowledge sharing in the field of digital technologies.
During the discussion, the parties also considered the establishment of a Regional Center for Artificial Intelligence in Central Asia. It was noted that such a center could become a comprehensive platform for cooperation between regional states, scientific institutions, technology experts, and development partners.
Following the meeting, participants emphasized that expanding cooperation between Central Asian countries in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technologies is essential for enhancing the region's competitiveness, ensuring sustainable development, and advancing technological progress.
