Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, met with a World Bank delegation led by Sameh Wahba, World Bank Regional Director for Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of water resources, implementing joint projects, strengthening industry infrastructure, and introducing digital technologies into the water resources management system.
Particular attention was paid to the reconstruction and modernization of irrigation infrastructure, increasing the efficiency of water resource use, and the introduction of modern digital systems.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals and adapt to climate change.
In addition, Daler Juma invited the World Bank delegation to actively participate in the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028”.
The Minister noted the importance of international partners' contribution to promoting Tajikistan's global water initiatives.
