As a result of operational investigative measures, police officers in the Republic of Tajikistan have uncovered several cases of fraud committed by exploiting citizens' trust, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.
According to the agency, a 33-year-old resident of Vakhdat, while in the Russian Federation in late 2024, fraudulently exploited the trust of a 37-year-old resident of Vakhdat. In two installments, he received 2.3 million Russian rubles from the victim, allegedly for business development, but used the funds for his own personal gain.
During other investigative activities, police officers established that on November 2, 2025, a 27-year-old resident of Dushanbe, taking advantage of the trust of a 27-year-old resident of the capital, received a BMW-520 from him worth 20 thousand US dollars and within 15 days sold the car for 132 thousand somoni, spending the proceeds on personal needs.
An investigation is underway into both incidents, and all necessary measures are being taken to establish a full picture of the crimes committed and bring those responsible to justice in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
