Last weekend, the Tajikistan Chess Federation held a rating rapid chess tournament at the TFChess Center. Approximately 150 chess players aged 6 to 80 from across the country participated in the competition, once again demonstrating the high interest in chess across generations, according to the Tajikistan Chess Federation.
The tournament was held with FIDE rating calculation and was organized with the aim of updating and recalculating the international rating of the participants, as well as improving the level of their competitive practice.
To ensure a level playing field, all participants were divided into two groups. Group A included players with a rating of 1800 and above, while Group B included players with a rating of 1799 and below.

The tournament's significance was further enhanced by the fact that Group A included a berth to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Games, which will be held in China in April. This provided additional motivation for the country's strongest chess players and significantly increased the level of competition.
The Tajikistan Chess Federation noted that the organization continues its systematic work to develop chess, create opportunities for athletes to improve their rankings, and select the strongest players to participate in international competitions.

Following the tournament, the winners and prize winners were:
In Group A, Timur Ismailov took first place, Jamshed Isaev took second place, and Kubot Maksudshoev took third place.
In Group B, Umar Kosimov won, Mukhsin Shukurov took second place, and Zurkhon Rizvonov took third. Shukhrat Sanginov took fourth place, David Naimov took fifth, Nuriollo Saidzoda took sixth, and Umar Okhunov took seventh.
