On January 29–30, 2026, the National Bank of Tajikistan, in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, held a training seminar with experts from the international company ARGOS on "Improving the Knowledge of Compliance Officers in International Trade," the National Bank's press service reported.

The event was organized to improve the knowledge and professional skills of employees of credit, financial, and insurance organizations, primarily compliance specialists, in the area of compliance with international requirements and risk management in international trade activities.
The seminar was opened by Sirodjiddin Ikromi, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan. In his address, he noted that despite ongoing reforms in the country's banking system, various risks and threats remain, given the unpredictability of the geopolitical and economic situation in the region and globally. In this context, he emphasized, strict compliance with international requirements by credit, financial, and insurance institutions is of particular importance, as is continuous training for employees, particularly compliance specialists responsible for compliance with regulations and the prevention and control of illegal and suspicious transactions.
During the event, it was noted that the exchange of experience and information between international experts and representatives of credit, financial, and insurance organizations will contribute to improving the knowledge and professional skills of participants.
Holger Wiefel, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's Office in Tajikistan, also attended the opening ceremony. He praised the mutually beneficial cooperation with the National Bank of Tajikistan in recent years and expressed readiness to further strengthen collaboration in developing the human resources of banking and insurance companies, as well as implementing initiatives aimed at developing the country's financial system.
As part of the seminar program, experts from the international company ARGOS conducted in-person and virtual training sessions for representatives of credit, financial, and insurance organizations on international trade, risk management, and compliance with international legal requirements on January 29–30.
It is noted that these trainings serve as a platform for exchanging opinions. Participants had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, expand their experience and practical skills in international trade, and strengthen their professional competencies in this field.
