The authority and respect, life experience, military training, and inner strength of veterans play a crucial role in the patriotic education of young people, their preparation for service in the police and military, and in popularizing the history of the Tajik police. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General of the Internal Service Nozim Ibrohimzoda, at the final meeting of the Veterans' Organization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, which took place on January 24, 2026, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs' conference room, according to the ministry's press service.
Nozim Ibrohimzoda noted the constant concern of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, for veterans, the comprehensive support and assistance of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General of Police Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, as well as the fruitful work of the Veterans' Organization and the veterans' councils of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He emphasized the dedicated service of veterans in the police and the significant contribution of retirees and veterans to the education of the younger generation and young police officers. He noted that veterans of the police, through their example, behavior, and words of encouragement, are a reliable support and loyal mentors for young officers.
Following the event, the Chairman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Veterans Organization, retired Police Major General Said Kayum Jurakhonzoda, delivered a report on the ongoing support of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the effective work of the Organization and veterans' councils over the past year, meetings and events held in internal affairs agencies, and the active participation of retirees and veterans in high-level national, city, and departmental events.
He reported that 15,077 retirees living in regions, cities, and districts of republican subordination are currently registered with the Organization of Veterans of Internal Affairs Agencies. Of these, 3,069 are veterans with 25 years or more of service, and another 7,772 are retirees with less than 25 years of service.
It was also noted that the Veterans' Organization, together with the Department of Human Resources and Personnel Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has established close cooperation and, based on the Ministry of Internal Affairs' action plan, conducts discussions and meetings among personnel, especially with young employees, contributing to patriotic education, the development of responsibility in the performance of official duties, maintaining a culture of communication with the public, and the prevention and detection of crimes.
During 2025, with the participation of veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, training days, meetings and presentations with personnel were held 517 times in departments and divisions of internal affairs agencies.
At the same time, free treatment and spa treatment for veterans and pensioners were noted, as well as their incentives in anticipation of various holidays and celebrations from the leadership of the internal affairs agencies.
It was emphasized that the health of veterans and retirees of the internal affairs agencies is a constant focus for the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Veterans Organization. In 2025, 1,635 retirees were treated at the outpatient clinic of the Medical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, over 130 people were sent for treatment and rest to the Ministry of Internal Affairs sanatoriums "Sadbarg" and "Shifo," as well as to the national health resorts "Zumrat," "Shokhambari," and "Khoja-Obigarm."
In conclusion of his speech, Said Jurakhonzoda noted that the contribution of veterans of the internal affairs agencies in passing on their wealth of experience to the younger generation of employees is significant, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure their wider involvement.
During the final meeting, the chairmen of the veterans' councils of the Ministry of Internal Affairs departments for Dushanbe, Sughd Region, and Khatlon Region, as well as the chairmen of the veterans' councils of the Ministry of Internal Affairs departments of the districts of republican subordination, presented reports on the work completed over the past year and the implementation of the action plan for the current year.
Also at the meeting, Deputy Head of the Department of Human Resources and Personnel Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Safarali Dovudzoda, noted the important role of the Veterans Organization in developing areas of activity and training young personnel, emphasizing that the efforts, wisdom, knowledge, experience, and dedication of the older generation are a key guideline and the key to success for young police officers.
At the conclusion of the event, a number of veterans and retirees were awarded the "For Cooperation" medal and a Certificate of Honor by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their conscientious and dedicated service in the internal affairs agencies.
