China has published a white paper on safeguarding national security in Hong Kong.

"Hong Kong: Safeguarding National Security under the Framework of 'One Country, Two Systems'" is a white paper published by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China. It recounts the special administrative region's historical journey and its struggle to safeguard national security. The white paper also outlines the central government's primary responsibility for national security affairs affecting Hong Kong. It also describes Hong Kong's achievements in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities to ensure national security and transition from unrest to stability and prosperity, as well as its efforts to build high-quality security for high-quality development and safeguard the "One Country, Two Systems" framework.
