Early potato planting and landscaping have begun in the Spitamen district. Spring fieldwork began in the district on February 11, with the participation of Sughd Region Chairman Rajab Akhmadzoda. This was reported by the regional administration's press service.
The head of the region, along with shareholders and farm workers, participated in the planting of early potatoes at the B. Komilov farm, where he provided recommendations and instructions aimed at achieving a high yield.
The farm has 38 hectares of arable land. This year, according to the plan, potatoes will be planted on one hectare, cotton on 26 hectares, and other vegetables and crops on the remaining land.

As noted during the presentation of the cropping plan, Spitamen District has 10,970 hectares of irrigated arable land. Of this, 6,490 hectares are allocated to cotton, 120 hectares to potatoes, and 271 hectares to vegetables and other crops.
By the end of 2025, the district's farmers had achieved remarkable results. The total volume of agricultural production exceeded 834 million somoni.
During a meeting with activists, business executives, and rural jamoat chairmen, Rajab Akhmadzoda emphasized that, with the support and constant attention of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, favorable conditions have been created for agricultural producers, and farmers enjoy a number of benefits. At the same time, decision-makers must ensure the efficient and rational use of land and increased crop yields.

On the same day, the regional governor took part in a sapling planting campaign. Landscaping activities have begun in all cities and districts of the region. It is reported that 50 hectares of old orchards are planned for regeneration this year. Timely irrigation water supply is cited as a key factor in achieving high yields.
There are 13 pumping stations operating in the Spitamen district, all of which are currently undergoing repairs. During a tour of the Sarband pumping station, it was reported that it was commissioned in 1986 and is equipped with four units. The station provides irrigation for over 2,000 hectares of land. In 2024, with the support of the president, a new unit was installed, increasing the station's capacity.

Following the visit, the head of the region ordered the timely repair of all pumping stations, the full commissioning of the units by the spring planting season, compliance with safety regulations, and the improvement of adjacent areas and station buildings.
