A joint Tajik-Russian agricultural venture has begun operations, according to the CIS Executive Committee press service, citing the Tajikistan Export Agency.
It is noted that the creation of the enterprise will allow Russia to become the main buyer of Tajik agricultural products.
According to Tajagropromexport, the company has been registered and officially commenced operations.
"The final name of the company has not yet been determined. We have several options, including Agrotazhtreyd, Tajagro, and Taytrade. The final name will be confirmed and announced after consultation with our partners in Russia," the company stated.
Earlier, the Director of the Tajikistan Export Agency, Bahriddin Sirojiddinzoda, announced that the leadership of the Russian Federation and Tajikistan had reached an agreement on registering a joint venture.
According to him, the company will undertake preparatory work for the export of Tajik agricultural products to Russia. "Following orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin, our Russian colleagues have already visited Tajikistan twice, and we have visited Russia once. They come to actually work, not sign documents," he noted.
The agency's director added that the agreement provides for the allocation of 10 hectares of land in the republic for the construction of an enterprise focused on the export of agricultural products to the Russian Federation.
In turn, Tajagropromexport Director Marufi Abdullo reported that the company's delegation visited Moscow for talks with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as major agricultural sector organizations.
According to official data, in 2025, Tajik agricultural exports amounted to $79.2 million, of which more than 50%, or $39.4 million, went to Russia.
