US President Donald Trump will announce a multi-billion dollar plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip at the first formal meeting of the Peace Council next week, the Associated Press reports, citing informed sources.
The Trump administration expects delegations from at least 20 countries to attend the first meeting of the Peace Council, which will take place on February 19.
Billions of dollars are expected to be allocated for the reconstruction of the war-torn Gaza Strip, as well as thousands of troops for an international stabilization force that will ensure the territory's security.
The creation of the Peace Council was part of Trump's proposed plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Its formation was announced in January 2026.
Around 60 leaders from around the world were invited to join the Council, some as founding members. Trump became the first chairman of the Peace Council.
On January 22, the ceremony to establish the Peace Council took place in Davos.
