On February 25, 2026, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted a meeting of the Joint Steering Committee of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Nations to review the priorities of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2027–2030. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was co-chaired by Abdurahmonzoda Safarali, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Parvati Ramaswamy, UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan. It was attended by senior officials from ministries and agencies, as well as representatives of UN country agencies.
During the meeting, priority issues of the Framework Program for Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the UN in the Field of Sustainable Development for 2027–2030 were considered, as well as draft programs of UN country agencies, including the UN Development Program, the UN Children's Fund, the UN Population Fund, and the UN World Food Programme.



Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali noted that under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, as well as as a result of measures implemented by the Government in cooperation with UN country agencies and other development partners, macroeconomic stability has been ensured in the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the relevant decisions were made on the agenda items. The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation to ensure the effective implementation of the new Cooperation Programme and the country programs of UN agencies.
