In Tajikistan, Navruz, according to astronomical calculations, will begin on March 20 at 7:45 PM Dushanbe time in 2026. This was reported by NIAT Khovar, citing the Institute of Astrophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.
According to experts, it is at this moment that the center of the Sun's apparent motion will cross the celestial equator and move from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere. The intersection of the Sun's path—the ecliptic—and the celestial equator is called the vernal equinox.
Thus, the moment of the onset of Navruz coincides with the position of the Sun at the equinox and at the intersection of the ecliptic and the celestial equator.
The image, created using the Stellarium program, shows the position of the Sun at the moment of Nowruz: the luminary is at the equinox point – the intersection of the ecliptic and the celestial equator.
