On March 4, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atakhalliyev, who was in Dushanbe to attend the regular meeting of the Tajik-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
During the conversation, the state and prospects of the Tajik-Turkmen strategic partnership and ways of its further development were discussed.
The head of state, noting with satisfaction the positive dynamics of cooperation between the two countries, emphasized the great opportunities for advancing this process in various sectors of the economy, including trade, industry, transport and logistics, as well as the agricultural sector.


Interest was also expressed in expanding cultural and humanitarian ties in the areas of sports and tourism, youth, cultural, and scientific-educational exchanges.
The head of state emphasized the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission's continued active work for effective cooperation between the two countries in these and other areas.
An exchange of views took place on maintaining regular interstate dialogue across the entire spectrum of bilateral issues, as well as close cooperation within international and regional organizations.
