The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has warned of adverse weather conditions and the risk of hazardous natural phenomena in several regions of the country from March 16 to 19, 2026.
According to meteorological services, during the specified period, the risk of dangerous natural phenomena remains in some regions of the republic.
It has been reported that the risk of avalanches remains in avalanche-prone areas of the Dushanbe-Chanak highway, particularly in the Maykhura and Zidde sections of the Varzob district, as well as in the mountainous regions of the republican subordination and in the western regions of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
At the same time, mudflows are expected in a number of regions. Specifically, the risk of mudflows is expected in some districts of the Khatlon Region, in the mountainous regions of the Republican Subordination, in the western regions of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, and in the foothill and mountainous areas of the Sughd Region.
It is also noted that during the specified period, rain and snowfall are possible in certain areas.
Due to the predicted weather conditions, the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan recommends that citizens take precautions.
In particular, residents and drivers are advised to exercise increased caution when driving on mountain roads, refrain from unnecessary travel to mountainous areas, and maintain a safe distance on the roads.
In addition, the agency urges citizens to immediately report any dangerous situations to emergency services.
