Russian forces launched attacks on several regions of Ukraine. The Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions were targeted. According to local authorities, the shelling resulted in deaths and injuries.
A Russian drone reportedly attacked a checkpoint in the village of Novoselivka in the Chernihiv region on Sunday, March 15. This was announced by Dmitry Brizhinsky, head of the Chernihiv city military administration. He added that the strike resulted in one fatality and one injury among service members.
Dmitry Brizhinsky noted that unidentified explosive devices dropped from an unmanned aerial vehicle continue to detonate at the scene. He added that the relevant services are still working at the scene.
As of 4:00 PM local time, one service member was reported dead and five were wounded. The head of the city's military administration reported this in a comment to the regional branch of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine. The wounded were taken to medical facilities in Chernihiv.
In addition, a police officer was injured as a result of the attack and suffered a concussion.
Local authorities also reported that Russian troops regularly attack the Chernihiv region, which borders Russia and Belarus, as well as other regions of Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 97 drones into Ukrainian territory on the night of March 15. The attacks continued during the day.
On March 15, five districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region were also hit by drone strikes, artillery, and aerial bombs, according to Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the region's military administration.
According to him, five people were injured as a result of the shelling. Additionally, one person died in the Troitskaya rural community of the Pavlograd district.
A woman died as a result of artillery shelling in the village of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya in the Kharkiv region on March 15, the regional prosecutor's office reported.
According to the prosecutor's office, by the evening of March 18, three people were also known to have been injured as a result of drone strikes.
Thus, according to local authorities, as a result of the strikes in the Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, there are dead and wounded.
