On April 6, 2026, in Dushanbe, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, held a meeting with the Director of the Office of Agriculture, Food Security, Natural Resources and Rural Development of the Asian Development Bank, Jiangfeng Zhang.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, during the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to strengthening bilateral cooperation, including effective and sustainable water resource management, rational use of hydropower potential, and the implementation of joint projects.


Particular attention was paid to the effective management of water resources in the Bahri Tojik Reservoir. The parties emphasized its strategic importance in ensuring water and energy security for the country and the region.
In this context, the need to introduce modern management methods, improve the monitoring system and increase the efficiency of water resource use was particularly noted.
Investment attraction, innovative technology implementation, and industry potential development were also discussed. The parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation within the framework of priority projects.
