Dust storms and haze are expected in Tajikistan on April 15 and 16, coming from the southwest and northwest. This was reported by the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the agency, on these days, in the southern cities and districts of the Khatlon region, in the districts of republican subordination and in the city of Dushanbe, an increase in the level of air pollution by suspended particles, including dust, particles up to 10 microns in size (PM-10) and up to 2.5 microns (PM-2.5), is expected.
It is noted that on April 17 and 18, a similar situation is predicted in the northern and central cities and districts of the Sughd region.
In addition, on April 15, a drop in daytime air temperatures to 8–10 degrees Celsius is expected in the valleys of the republic.
Citizens are advised to avoid long walks along avenues and streets, especially near roads with heavy traffic.
