Rainfall is expected across Tajikistan on April 16, with some heavy rainfall expected in the Districts of Republican Subordination and foothill areas of Khatlon Region. This was reported by the press service of the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In mountainous areas at altitudes above 2,500 meters, precipitation is forecast in the form of snow.
A dust storm and haze are also expected on April 16, coming from the southwest and northwest. In the southern cities and districts of Khatlon Region, the Districts of Republican Subordination, and the city of Dushanbe, increased air pollution levels are forecast for suspended particles—dust, PM-10, and PM-2.5.
A similar situation with air pollution is expected on April 17 and 18 in the northern and central regions of the Sughd region.
From April 16 to 18, due to precipitation in the foothill and mountainous regions of republican subordination, in certain areas of the Khatlon region, and also in places in the west of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, local mudflows are predicted.
In addition, on April 16 and 17, an increase in water levels is expected on the Vakhsh, Yakhsu, and Kyzylsu (southern) rivers, as well as on the rivers flowing from the southern slopes of the Gissar Range.
Residents of the republic are advised to take precautions in adverse weather conditions.
