"Today's meeting is just the beginning of a long process of preparation for the Games, which will span the entirety of 2026 and possibly much of 2027. The Working Group's agenda will undoubtedly be extensive, our meetings will be regular, and Commonwealth countries will always have the opportunity to express their proposals and initiatives for consideration in a multilateral format. This was the case during the preparations for the previous Games, which were successfully held in Russia, Belarus, and Azerbaijan," noted Alexey Sazonov.
He emphasized that the joint work of the Commonwealth countries and the initiatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, renowned for its traditions in national sports, will make a significant contribution to the development of the CIS Games project, which will be held in 2027 in a new, original format.
The meeting participants took note of the information from the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding its readiness to host the IV CIS Games in 2027, and also approved proposals for sports to be included in the competition program.
