Several cases of theft have been solved in the capital of Tajikistan and the city of Bokhtar, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.
On January 9, 2026, a 36-year-old Dushanbe resident filed a report with the Sino District Department of Internal Affairs No. 1 in Dushanbe. He reported that unknown individuals had secretly entered his apartment, stolen 20,000 somoni, and fled the scene.
As a result of operational and investigative measures, police officers determined that the theft was committed by a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old minor, both residents of Dushanbe. An investigation is underway.
The Bokhtar City Department of Internal Affairs also received a complaint from a 34-year-old woman, a resident of the Farkhor District who works at the London Entertainment Center in Bokhtar. The complainant reported that on December 23, 2025, 9,700 somoni were stolen from the entertainment center's cafeteria, after which the perpetrators fled the scene.
An investigation is underway into both crimes.
