On November 25, Somon Air management held a meeting with Zinat Khanche, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in the Republic of Tajikistan, the airline's press service reported .
The talks focused on issues of mutual interest regarding cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Tajikistan in civil aviation. One of the areas discussed was the possibility of establishing a direct flight between Dushanbe and the UK capital, London. Participants noted that this could facilitate increased tourism between the countries, particularly if visa procedures are simplified.
Zinat Khancheh also reported that British companies operating in the aviation sector are exploring business opportunities in the Republic of Tajikistan. Among the areas being considered is potential support through UK export finance, including the supply of Rolls-Royce aircraft engines for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline's press service emphasized that the discussion was preliminary in nature and concerned prospects for cooperation in the field of aviation, financial support, and the supply of aircraft equipment.
