The tenth meeting of the permanent Working Group under the Intergovernmental Council on the Agro-Industrial Complex of the CIS Member States was held at the Moscow Office of the CIS Executive Committee, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, departments, and scientific institutions from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee.
In his welcoming remarks, Anar Ahad oglu Dzhanakhmedov, Deputy Director of the CIS Executive Committee's Department of Economic Cooperation, thanked the Russian Ministry of Agriculture for its successful chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Council on Agro-Industrial Complex in 2025, summarized the Working Group's activities over the past period, and expressed confidence in its productive work next year.
The Chairmanship of the Working Group passed to the Republic of Tajikistan. Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Anvari Nigina Anvarjanovna, was elected Chairperson.
During the meeting, participants engaged in a substantive exchange of views on proposals for a new version of the Agreement on Interstate Relations on Agro-Industrial Issues of March 29, 1993, and the Food Security Cooperation Program. The experts agreed to continue the discussion and promptly finalize the draft documents aimed at promoting the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex in the CIS member states.
The next meeting of the Working Group under the Intergovernmental Council on the Agro-Industrial Complex of the CIS Member States is scheduled for April 2026.
