As a result of agreements reached between business and investment communities at the Khatlon Invest 2025 International Investment Forum, 30 memorandums of understanding worth over 900 million somoni were signed. This was reported by the press service of the Executive Authority of Khatlon Region.
The Khatlon Invest 2025 International Investment Forum, which opened on November 11 in Bokhtar, aims to attract foreign investment, particularly direct investment, into the region's economy, strengthen interregional cooperation, increase the region's export potential, and develop economic and trade cooperation with development partners.
The forum was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, ministries and committees, representatives of the diplomatic corps, domestic and foreign business and investment communities, official regional delegations from over 20 countries, heads of international financial institutions, and other development partners. During the forum, participants viewed an exhibition of agricultural and industrial products, as well as folk crafts from the Khatlon region.
The forum continued with sections on "Investments for Sustainable Regional Development: Partnership with the Private Sector and Transforming Khatlon into a Modern Economic Hub," "Digitalization of Public Services," and "From Land to Market: Developing the Agricultural Value Chain, Exporting, and Processing Local Products in Khatlon Region." These sessions presented mechanisms for attracting investment in agro-industrial clusters, investment and digitalization opportunities in free economic zones, the implementation of infrastructure projects using public-private partnerships, and investments in the tourism industry.
Leaders and representatives of ministries, agencies, and development partners discussed the digitalization of public services for investors at the regional level, branding and digitalization of exports ("Made in Khatlon"), the creation and promotion of domestic brands in domestic and foreign markets, opportunities for entrepreneurship development through digitalization, modern forms of investment, mechanisms and funding opportunities through the Tajik-Uzbek investment company, the introduction of a cashless payment system for public transport in the city of Bokhtar, as well as other digitalization issues, the creation of agro-industrial clusters and product processing in the Khatlon region, strengthening packaging enterprises, refrigeration, and fruit and vegetable processing, increasing the country's export potential, and the "Presidential Grant of the Republic of Tajikistan – a Factor in the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship" program.
The forum also featured B2B meetings between entrepreneurs and investors from Tajikistan and other countries.
Today, participants and guests of the Khatlon Invest 2025 forum are expected to visit manufacturing and industrial enterprises in the Khatlon region, as well as the pomegranate festival in the city of Nurek.
