Over 57 million somoni in alimony payments were collected in Tajikistan in the first six months of 2025. This was announced by Akhtam Abdullozoda, Director of the Enforcement Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, during a press conference held in Dushanbe on August 5.
According to him, the amount of alimony collected has increased significantly compared to the same period last year – by almost 36 million somoni.
In the context of enforcing court decisions, alimony payments were collected not only from men but also from other categories of payers: in 56 cases, from children in favor of elderly parents; in 28 cases, from women in favor of men and children; and in 40 cases, from grandparents in favor of grandchildren.
However, the number of cases of alimony collection from men in favor of women and children was not announced.
Abdullozoda also noted that from January to June of this year, 1,056 debtors previously included in the register of persons temporarily restricted from traveling abroad repaid their debts totaling 15.8 million somoni. However, the Enforcement Service's so-called "black list" currently includes 2,910 individuals prohibited from leaving the country until court decisions are fully enforced.
In addition, criminal cases have been opened against 156 individuals for malicious evasion of alimony payments, and another 410 debtors have been placed on the wanted list for evading their obligations and concealing their place of residence.
The Enforcement Service emphasized that the tightening of measures against malicious defaulters is aimed at ensuring the rights of children, the elderly, and socially vulnerable citizens, as well as increasing legal discipline and social responsibility.
