In the first half of 2025, 29 public organizations ceased operations in Tajikistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice at a press conference dedicated to the half-year results.
According to the agency, all organizations were liquidated voluntarily. This figure is nine cases higher than the number of closures during the same period in 2024.
According to the Ministry of Justice, 1,726 public organizations are currently officially registered and continue to operate in the country.
During the reporting period, the Ministry of Justice received 138 applications for registration of public associations, as well as for registration of branches and representative offices (for comparison: in the first half of 2024 – 158 applications).
Of the total number of applications submitted, 29 were rejected due to non-compliance with legal requirements, as well as violation of the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Public Associations”.
In addition, in the first half of 2025, an audit of the statutory activities of 14 existing public associations was conducted.
The Ministry emphasized that oversight of public organizations' activities is carried out in accordance with current legal norms and is aimed at ensuring transparency, legality, and the protection of citizens' rights.
