In the first half of 2025, 13,089 crimes were registered in Tajikistan, an increase of 1,285 cases compared to the same period in 2024. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Ramazon Rahimzoda, at a press conference dedicated to the Ministry's performance in the first six months of this year.
According to the minister, the largest increases were recorded in categories such as fraud, theft, hooliganism, and crimes related to drug trafficking.
In particular, the following were registered during the reporting period: 28 cases of murder and attempted murder; 20 cases of robbery; 57 cases of robbery; 24 cases of rape; 762 cases of hooliganism; 2,356 cases of fraud; 2,182 cases of theft; 64 cases of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm; 33 cases of extortion; 486 crimes related to drug trafficking.
Ramazon Rahimzoda noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to take measures to combat crime, strengthen crime prevention, and improve the effectiveness of investigative operations.
"Despite the increase in the number of registered crimes, the crime situation in the country remains stable. Internal affairs agencies are systematically working to ensure law and order and public safety," the head of the agency emphasized.
He also added that the Ministry of Internal Affairs pays special attention to combating serious and especially serious crimes, including violent ones, and drug-related crimes.
