Russian law enforcement agencies issued 224,000 administrative reports against Kyrgyz citizens in the first seven months of 2025, Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry spokesman Almazbek Baibosov said at a press conference, TASS reports.
"224,000 administrative protocols have been drawn up against Kyrgyz citizens in Russia since the beginning of [the current] year through August. <…> 3,748 people have been deported for administrative offenses. 292 citizens, often facing criminal charges, have been deported," he said.
Baibosov added that in the first quarter, 352,000 citizens of the republic were registered for migration purposes in Russia, and they signed 680,000 employment contracts and civil contracts. This statistic is due to the fact that one person can enter into multiple contracts, he explained.
The day before, the head of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic, Kamchybek Tashiev, called on migrant workers from Kyrgyzstan to return home.
Russia remains the primary destination for Kyrgyz citizens seeking work. On July 24, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Imangaziyev and Russian Ambassador to the Republic Sergey Vakunov met in Bishkek to discuss the possibility of screening Kyrgyz migrant workers before they leave for Russia.
