In the village of Sebzor, Asht district, Sughd region, Tajikistan, work is underway to strengthen the bank of a local river, which is approximately three meters high and extends for over 60–80 meters. This was reported by the district chairman's press service.
The project aims to prevent natural hazards, protect residential buildings, and ensure the safety of local residents. The work is being carried out using specialists and modern equipment.
The events are being implemented in preparation for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, in accordance with the approved plan.
District Chairman Shukhrat Muhammadzoda also inspected the progress of road paving in the village of Shivar in the Oshoba rural jamoat. Local residents and entrepreneurs will be involved in laying asphalt over a 4-kilometer stretch. This will provide more than 280 households with access to high-quality roads.
Infrastructure development and improving living standards are priorities of state social policy. In the first half of 2025, over ten social facilities were built and renovated in the Asht district, hundreds of homes were connected to clean drinking water, and new permanent jobs were created.
Muhammadzoda expressed gratitude to entrepreneurs, officials, and activists for their contribution to the district's development and called on them to be more actively involved in improvements and the timely implementation of holiday plans.
