In the lead-up to Inventor's and Innovator's Day, celebrated annually in Tajikistan on the third Sunday of August, the National Patent and Information Center of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade held a celebratory event to commemorate the occasion. The ministry's press service reported this.
The event was attended by the ministry's leadership, industry representatives, and a number of the country's inventors and innovators.
As Mirzo Ismoilzoda, Director of the National Patent and Information Center, noted, the celebration of Inventor and Innovator Day demonstrates that the government of the republic prioritizes the development of invention and innovation. He stated that this area is considered a key factor in socioeconomic development, and inventors are considered important intellectual capital for the state.
"Thanks to the conditions created and the support provided to inventors and innovators, their numbers are growing every year. Since independence, the total number of inventors has reached approximately 3,100, of which approximately 1,000 are women. During this time, over 2,000 titles have been obtained, including patents and petty patents, and this number continues to grow," Ismoilzoda emphasized.
In addition, representatives of Tajikistan actively participate in regional and international exhibitions and forums, where they have already been awarded more than 100 medals for their achievements.
