On August 21, the Tajikistan Olympic team (U-23) began preparations for the 2026 Asian Cup qualifying tournament, reports the FFT.
Head coach of the national Olympic team, Levan Khomeriki, called up 30 players for a final training camp before the qualifying round: three goalkeepers, 10 defenders, 12 midfielders, and five forwards. Only 23 players will make the team's final roster for the qualifying tournament.
It's worth noting that the Tajikistan U-23 Olympic team will play in Group K of the 2026 Asian Cup qualifying tournament. Our team will face Nepal (September 3), the Philippines (September 6), and Syria (September 9). All matches will be held at the Central Republican Stadium in Dushanbe.
The winners of 11 qualifying groups, as well as the four best second-placed teams, will advance to the final stage of the 2026 Asian Cup, which will be held from January 7 to 25 in Saudi Arabia.
