President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon's working visit to the Rasht Valley continued in the Nurobod district after visiting the Tojikobod and Rasht districts. This was reported by the presidential administration's press service.
Following a warm welcome from district leaders and residents, Emomali Rahmon reviewed the construction project for the largest automobile bridge in the republic. The structure will be 920 meters long and 15 meters wide. The project is scheduled for two years and is being implemented as part of the third phase of the Obigarm-Nurobod project.
The bridge will be of strategic importance: it will not only connect the banks of the Surkhob River, but will also create conditions for the active use of the region's industrial and tourist potential, which will contribute to the development of the national economy.
Domestic and international specialists were engaged to prepare a feasibility study for the project and study international bridge construction practices. The President of Tajikistan provided engineers and builders with recommendations on meeting deadlines, using high-quality materials, and ensuring a high standard of work. During the visit, the head of state personally laid the foundation stone for the future bridge.
Emomali Rahmon also remotely commissioned 75 kilometers of renovated local roads in the Rogun jamoat and Nurobod district. These roads were restored as part of the Obigarm-Nurobod project and connected the villages of Mudzhiharf, Mekhrobod, Safedchashma, and Obi Mekhnat in Nurobod district, as well as the Obigarm jamoat in Rogun city, with the main highway.
The upgraded infrastructure will improve living conditions for approximately 100,000 residents of the region, providing more convenient access to educational and medical institutions and facilitating the delivery of agricultural products to the capital's markets.
According to local residents, the president's attention and initiatives evoke a sense of joy and pride, as they directly contribute to improving the quality of life for the population.
