Panjakent Mayor Abdulkhalik Kholikzoda met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Tajikistan, Elisa Pinel, who arrived in the city on a working visit. The Panjakent administration also announced this.
The parties noted the long-standing and productive collaboration with the French Archaeological Mission to Central Asia on the Sarazm site and expressed their willingness to continue joint work on its preservation and scientific study. Particular emphasis was placed on educational projects, including support for the teaching of French in the city's schools and universities.
The talks covered prospects for economic cooperation involving French businesses. Projects in tourism, architecture and urban planning, agricultural processing, waste separation, treatment, and recycling, as well as the development of local power generation, were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop roadmaps for priority areas, including developing joint cultural and educational programs and creating conditions for attracting investment in Panjakent's tourism infrastructure. The French Ambassador praised the city's potential and its historical sites, noting favorable prospects for expanding bilateral projects.
The administration emphasized that the development of interregional ties within the framework of Tajikistan's foreign policy will continue to rely on practice-oriented initiatives that unite the scientific, cultural, and business communities of the two countries.
