On September 9, Niagara Falls, located on the U.S.-Canada border, will be illuminated in the colors of the national flag of Tajikistan in honor of the 34th anniversary of the republic's independence. This was announced by the Tajik Embassy in the United States.
The illumination will begin at 7:00 AM Dushanbe time (September 8 at 10:00 PM New York time). The festivities will also include a fireworks display.
"Niagara Falls will glow in the white, red, and green colors of the country's flag. This is a symbol of respect for the Tajik people and a significant gift in honor of Independence Day," the embassy said in a statement.
