A commemorative event under the motto "Remember History, Cherish Peace" was held at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Tajikistan to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, government agencies, public organizations, the Council of Veterans, relatives of veterans, and journalists.
The meeting was opened by Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Guo Zhijun . In his welcoming speech, the ambassador emphasized the historic significance of the shared victory over militaristic Japan and the importance of preserving the truth about World War II. The diplomat recalled the heavy sacrifices and destruction suffered by the Chinese people during the war and noted the contributions of international friends to China's liberation. He paid special attention to the contribution of the Soviet Red Army soldiers and expressed gratitude to the Tajik people for their solidarity: according to data provided by the Council of Veterans of Tajikistan, 42 Tajik nationals served in the Red Army during the battles against Japanese aggression in China. "The Chinese people will forever preserve the memory of the heroism of those who stood up to defend freedom and peace," said Guo Zhijun.
The ambassador also addressed contemporary challenges to international security and called on states to work together to strengthen stability and uphold an international order based on the norms of the UN Charter. During his speech, the diplomat reaffirmed China's position on a number of historical and legal issues, calling the country's reunification an important part of the wartime outcome and an element of the post-war international order.

In their speeches, representatives of the Veterans' Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that joint commemorative events contribute to the education of young people and the development of humanitarian dialogue between the peoples of the two countries.
The meeting culminated in Ambassador Guo Zhijun presenting commemorative certificates and one-time financial assistance to five representatives of the Tajik fighters' families for their personal contributions and family memories of the heroes:
