The 16th meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's Emergency Situations Coordination Council (CSTO ESCC) was held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. The organization's press center reported this.
The meeting was attended by the heads of emergency departments of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Russia, as well as Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO Valery Semerikov.

Participants summarized the Council's activities over the past year and agreed on a plan of joint activities for 2026 aimed at strengthening cooperation between member countries in the area of emergency prevention and response.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the special exercise "Skala" to be held in Tajikistan in 2026. Furthermore, the creation of a humanitarian center to coordinate emergency response in the Central Asian region was discussed.
"A working group has been created to evaluate the initiative and develop practical solutions," noted CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov.
Following the meeting, the chairmanship of the KSChS was transferred to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. The next, 17th, meeting of the council is scheduled for June 2026 in St. Petersburg.
