The XXIV International Sports Games of the CIS and SCO countries will be held on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul from September 4 to 12, under the motto "Asia – a region of commonwealth and peace," the CIS Executive Committee press service reported.
These popular competitions were launched in 2001, with just 80 athletes participating. Today, over 3,000 athletes have attended the competition. The Games have become the largest regular sporting event in Central Asia.
The Games program includes competitions in both traditional and national sports.
The Games program included competitions in 15 sports, including arm wrestling, volleyball, darts, mini-football, table tennis, tug-of-war, swimming, and athletics. The competition brought together athletes from Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
