Tajik athletes Roshid Nematov and Bobojon Sharopov won gold and silver medals at the Asian Cadet Judo Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, according to the Tajikistan Judo Federation.
Both athletes competed in the 73 kg weight class and successfully completed the preliminary rounds, defeating their opponents. In the final, they faced each other, engaging in a "Tajik" bout. Roshid Nematov won the decisive bout, becoming the Asian champion. Bobojon Sharopov took second place and won the tournament's silver medal.
Earlier, Madina Kurbonzoda won gold in the 52 kg weight category for the Tajikistan team in the cadet competition, securing the team's first gold medal of the tournament.
Thus, Tajik judokas continue to confidently demonstrate a high level of training and strengthen the position of the national judo school on the international arena.
