Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with Semyon Grigoryev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Tajikistan, Yuri Shvytkin, Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Group for Relations with the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee of the Russian Federation, and State Duma Deputy Maxim Ivanov, according to a correspondent from NIAT Khovar.
On the same day, a meeting of parliamentary friendship groups took place in Dushanbe. Representing the Tajik side, it was attended by Mahmadshhoh Gulzoda, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Public Associations, and Information; Nasrullo Mahmudzoda, Chairman of the Committee on Law and Order, Defense, and Security; and Rustam Shokhmurod, Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Human Rights.
During the talks, the parties discussed strengthening interparliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, as well as prospects for expanding bilateral ties in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and educational spheres.
According to the participants, the development of interparliamentary cooperation plays an important role in further strengthening the strategic partnership and allied relations between the two states.
