On September 12, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Tajikistan Guo Zhijun met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hakimzoda Kurbon. Sun He, Counselor for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Chinese Embassy, also participated in the meeting.
Ambassador Guo Zhijun emphasized that China and Tajikistan are good neighbors and trusting partners, with cooperation between the countries constantly expanding and deepening. The diplomat placed particular emphasis on the development of agriculture and trade. China is prepared to expand imports of high-quality agricultural products from Tajikistan, support the transformation of scientific and technological advances, exchange experience, and facilitate the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative as part of Tajikistan's National Development Strategy 2030.
Minister of Agriculture Hakimzoda Kurbon congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and noted China's active participation in implementing investment projects in key sectors of the Tajik economy, including agriculture, transport, industry, and energy. He emphasized the importance of the launch of the Tajik-Chinese Agricultural and Textile Industrial Park "New Silk Road," which has contributed to the advancement of cotton growing technologies and the development of the industry in the country.
The Minister noted that Tajikistan has significant potential in agriculture and hopes to expand exports to China, develop joint projects, and strengthen cooperation in agricultural technology, equipment, and personnel training.
