The United States has sent 75 tons of American-made food aid to Tajikistan, valued at over $255,000. The shipment is intended to support approximately 40,000 people across the country, according to the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe.
Manufactured by Breedlove Foods of Lubbock, Texas, the package includes a nutritious blend of lentils, rice, and vegetables, fortified with essential vitamins and minerals.
This food aid is intended for more than 140 medical and social institutions, including tuberculosis clinics, psychiatric centers, cancer hospitals, and refugee shelters. It is aimed at improving the nutrition, health, and overall well-being of the population, especially vulnerable groups.
The distribution of food will be carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan, the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, the National Tuberculosis Center, and the Red Crescent Society.
Representatives of the US Embassy noted that such deliveries are part of a long-term cooperation program between the two countries aimed at improving the quality of life of the population and supporting the social sphere in Tajikistan.
