The Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition — 2025 (DITE-2025) officially opened today in the capital of Tajikistan. The event is taking place at the Dushanbe Expo International Exhibition Center and will run until September 20, reports NIAT Khovar.
The exhibition was organized at the initiative of the Executive Authority of the City of Dushanbe with the support of the Tourism Development Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan by Somon Travel, together with partners in the tourism industry.
Representatives of government agencies, international organizations, travel companies, and over 200 domestic and international businesses participated in the opening ceremony. Participants included tour operators, hotel complexes, airlines, health and medical facilities, cultural and entertainment centers, and souvenir manufacturers.
Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe Dilbar Odilzoda delivered a welcoming speech. On behalf of the Speaker of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali, she welcomed the exhibition guests and noted the importance of the event for developing the tourism industry, showcasing the country's natural, cultural, and historical potential, strengthening international cooperation, and attracting investment.
In their speeches, Jamshed Jumakhonzoda, Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan; Simonida Kordic, Minister of Tourism of Montenegro and Chairperson of the United Nations Tourism Commission for Europe; Nasim Anvarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan; and Abdulkosim Valiev, Director of Somon Air, emphasized that DITE 2025 creates a unique platform for business interaction, exchange of experience, and promotion of Tajikistan's tourism industry internationally.
According to the organizers, more than 200 companies are participating in this year's exhibition, 65 of which are international. Tourism industry representatives came from Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Iran, Pakistan, Bahrain, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Syria, and Morocco.
DITE-2025 will feature B2B business meetings, the signing of new cooperation agreements, and presentations of investment projects in the tourism sector. This will help establish strategic partnerships, expand the regional tourism market, and improve the quality of services provided. The exhibition's main goals are to promote the development of the tourism industry, attract foreign tourists and investment, implement joint projects, and promote the country's national brand.
It is noted that the first International Tourism Exhibition in Dushanbe was held in September 2024, with 20 international companies from 16 countries and 90 domestic organizations participating. The event's success led to the decision to hold the exhibition annually in the capital during World Tourism Day.
The DITE-2025 International Tourism Exhibition serves as an important platform for integrating Tajikistan into the global tourism community and strengthening the country's image as a promising tourism destination.
