Police in the city of Konibodom uncovered and stopped an illegal gambling operation at a local teahouse. Eight participants were detained, according to the Sughd Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The incident occurred at the Pakhtakor teahouse, located on Dilovar Tolibov Street. Detectives discovered a group of eight individuals gambling for money. Those detained include Bakhodur Inomovich Usmanov, Ilkhom Ikramovich Zakerov (born 1987), Ekhson Vakhidovich Abdulloev, Farrukh Rustamovich Maksudov, Alisher Kakhkhorovich Dzhuraev, Dilshod Aliboevich Mallaev, Manuchehr Fozilovich Karimov (born 1986), and Aziz Abdukarimovich Sharipov (born 1984), all residents of Konibodom.
According to law enforcement, the gamblers had previously been prosecuted for similar activities. The locations were typically teahouses where traditional card games were played. The offenders stated that they had conducted similar events on numerous occasions.
Administrative offense reports were drawn up against the detainees under Article 465 of the Code of the Republic of Tajikistan on Administrative Offenses. The documents have been submitted to the Konibodom City Court for review.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that such actions can contribute to the development of addiction and potentially lead to the commission of crimes, and also emphasized the importance of preventing such cases in society.
