On September 24, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting between Sherali Kabir, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqi Zavqizoda, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, and Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan.
The negotiations focused on the project to create a joint industrial park in Dushanbe. Its implementation will boost industrial cooperation and give new impetus to the development of trade and industrial dialogue between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
"We are working to attract residents to the site of the future industrial park. To date, interest has been expressed by approximately 10 Russian companies in the light industry, construction, and forestry, as well as medical equipment manufacturers," noted Anton Alikhanov.
The parties also discussed a project to create a light industry cluster in Tajikistan by the BTK Group. Minister Alikhanov outlined the planned stages of the project's implementation.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in deepening cooperation both in industrial cooperation and in increasing trade turnover between the countries.
