Construction of a fired and lightweight brick factory continues in the city of Levakant in Khatlon Region. Today, Davlatali Said, the governor of the region, visited the site and inspected the construction progress, according to the press service of the governor of Khatlon Region.
Construction of the Khusrav Sokhtmon LLC plant began in 2024. The facility is scheduled to be operational by the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence. Once production begins, more than 30 local residents will have permanent jobs.
The plant's production capacity is designed for 60 thousand bricks per day, which amounts to approximately 21 million pieces per year.
The regional governor emphasized that the project is in line with the country's state industrialization policy, initiated and overseen by Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon. The policy's main goals are to ensure economic independence, create new jobs, and increase the country's export potential.
"The development of the industrial sector enables the efficient use of natural resources, the production of high-quality products, and their availability in domestic and foreign markets. Industrialization also reduces the economy's dependence on imports, strengthens energy security, and increases the country's production potential," noted Davlatali Said.
It is noted that small and large enterprises are built annually in Levacant with the involvement of domestic and foreign investment and entrepreneurs, which contributes to the development of the city and an increase in the well-being of the population.
