A government meeting chaired by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, and Prime Minister Emomali Rahmon was held in Dushanbe. The press service of the presidential administration reported this.
At the meeting, a report was heard from the Director of the Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation, Zafarbek Davlatzoda, on the State Program for the Development of New Irrigated Lands and the Restoration of Lands Withdrawn from Agricultural Use for 2026–2030.
As noted, the program was developed to implement the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan until 2030 and the National Water Strategy until 2040. The main goal of the document is to expand the area of irrigated land and return land previously abandoned for agricultural use to cultivation.
According to forecasts, the program's implementation will result in the country developing 11,800 hectares of new land and returning 16,750 hectares to cultivation. Emomali Rahmon instructed relevant agencies to approve the program and the corresponding action plan and to submit annual progress reports.
During the meeting, reports from ministers on a number of strategic areas were also heard:

on the Strategy for Inclusive Education until 2045 – by the Minister of Education and Science Rahim Saidzoda;

on the Strategy for the Development of Crafts and Modern Professional Skills until 2040 – by the Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population Solehamo Kholmahmadzoda;

on the implementation of the second stage (2026–2028) of the Green Economy Development Strategy – by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda.
It was emphasized that the implementation of these strategies will improve the social status of children with disabilities, strengthen the system of professional training, and create conditions for the introduction of "green" technologies, attract investment, and expand international cooperation.
In addition, meeting participants discussed a draft law on amendments to the 2025 State Budget, amendments to the Healthcare Code, and the General Plan for the city of Khorog.
Following the meeting, the Government adopted a number of resolutions. President Emomali Rahmon gave specific instructions and directives to responsible officials regarding their timely and high-quality implementation. He also instructed them to intensify efforts to attract direct investment, improve public amenities, ensure efficient use of energy, and prepare for the celebration of International Navruz and the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence.
