In October of this year, temperatures in Tajikistan are expected to be 1-2 degrees above normal, but a gradual decrease is predicted in the second and third ten-day periods of the month, according to the country's Hydrometeorology Agency.
According to weather forecasters, temperatures in Khatlon Region and several districts of republican subordination will remain above normal. Temperatures are expected to reach 13–18°C in the valleys and 9–14°C in the foothills. In mid- and late October, nighttime temperatures in the valleys are expected to reach 3–8°C, with daytime temperatures ranging from 14 to 19°C. In the foothills, nighttime temperatures will range from 2–7°C to 10–15°C, with daytime temperatures ranging from 10–15°C.
In Sughd Region, air temperatures in the valleys will be 13-18 degrees Celsius, and in the mountainous regions, 5-10 degrees Celsius. At night, temperatures in the mountains will drop from 1-6 to 0-5 degrees Celsius, and during the day, from 12-17 to 6-11 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, monthly precipitation in some areas is forecast to be below the climatic norm, with wind speeds of up to 15-20 m/s possible in some areas.
In the country's mountainous regions and the western Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, temperatures are expected to reach 12–17°C, 1–2°C above normal. By the end of the month, nighttime temperatures will drop to 3–2°C, and daytime temperatures to 8–13°C. Precipitation is expected to be within normal limits.
In the eastern Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, temperatures in the first ten days of October will range from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius at night and from 8 to 13 degrees Celsius during the day. In the second and third ten days, the weather is expected to worsen, with nighttime temperatures ranging from –1 to 4 degrees Celsius and daytime temperatures from 4 to 9 degrees Celsius.
Forecasters warn that winds up to 15–20 meters per second are expected in some areas of the country throughout the month.
