The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has approved the master plan for the city of Khorog in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. The decision was made at a government meeting chaired by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Chairman of the Government, Emomali Rahmon, according to the Khorog City Executive Authority.
The mayor's office noted that the adoption of the new general plan is of strategic importance for the development of the GBAO administrative center. Local authorities say the document will form the basis for a systematic approach to urban development, improvement, and social infrastructure development.
"The city's leadership expresses its sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, for his timely and far-sighted initiative aimed at the development and modernization of Khorog," the city's executive authority emphasized.
The new master plan provides for the comprehensive development of urban infrastructure, expansion of the street and road network, construction of educational, healthcare, cultural and sports facilities, as well as the improvement of public spaces.
The document also includes measures for the rational use of land resources, environmental protection, and the creation of comfortable living conditions for the population. Particular attention is paid to earthquake-resistant construction and the use of modern technologies in urban development projects.
