President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, to participate in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
At the Dushanbe International Airport, the President of Azerbaijan was warmly and cordially greeted by the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali.
The visit's program includes the participation of the head of Azerbaijan in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, where it is planned to discuss current issues of regional cooperation, strengthening political and economic interaction among participating countries, as well as measures to develop integration processes within the CIS.
During his stay in Dushanbe, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings and negotiations with the leaders of other Commonwealth states, as well as with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, with the aim of further developing strategic partnership and cooperation in various areas, including economics, energy, transport, and humanitarian cooperation.
